Fatal Car Crash at Espanola, NM, Self-Storage Facility, Causes Fire

A fatal car crash at Safe Cube Self Storage in Espanola, New Mexico, caused a fire that destroyed several units on Wednesday. The accident at 626 La Joya St. happened at about 5 a.m., according to the source.
The driver was the only person in the vehicle. The cause for the collision and the person’s death is still under investigation.
It took fire crews more than an hour to extinguish the flames, said John Wickersham, assistant fire chief for the Española Fire Department.
