BETCO Inc., a manufacturer of metal buildings and components for the self-storage industry, has earned the ISO 9001:2015 quality-management systems accreditation from the International Organization for Standardization, which develops and publishes international standards applied across multiple industries, according to a press release. ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality-management system when an entity “needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system,” according to information on the ISO website.

“We are the first manufacturer to receive the ISO 9001:2015 certification for the design, manufacture and installation management of self-storage buildings,” BETCO owner Sam Sabri said. “This designation means we were able to optimize our internal processes to ensure our customers a great experience.”

The process to earn the voluntary accreditation took more than a year. BETCO had to document and review its organizational structure, responsibilities and procedures, as well as increase quality by “streamlining, organizing and improving” the efficiency of its quality-management systems in accordance with the ISO standard, the release stated.

Founded in 1984 and based in Statesville, N.C., BETCO produces steel roll-up doors and hallway systems for self-storage and other industrial applications. It also provides refurbishing services for existing self-storage buildings. The company has constructed more than 60 million square feet of self-storage, the release stated.
