Janus Acquires Self-Storage Access-Control Provider ACT

Janus International, a global manufacturer and supplier of building solutions and technology for the self-storage industry, has acquired Access Control Technologies LLC, a provider of self-storage access control equipment, installation and integration services. ACT will continue to operate under its own brand but will merge its team and capabilities with the Janus Nokē Smart Entry project-management platform, according to a press release.

“We’re very excited to have ACT join the Janus family and are thrilled about the innovative solutions we’ll be providing to the self-storage industry,” said Christine DeBord, president of the Janus Nokē Smart Entry division. “In ACT’s president, Scott Underbrink, and [chief operating officer], Chad Stone, we’ve added two of the most well-respected and experienced leaders in the industry to our team. Both companies will continue to serve and support our customers with high-quality products and solutions to help them operate and secure their businesses more efficiently.”

ACT offers nationwide sales, distribution, installation, design, maintenance and support services for access-control systems, custom-fabricated security gates and audio/video surveillance, as well as alarms, structured cabling and low-voltage system design, the release stated.

Headquartered in Temple, Georgia, and founded in 2002, Janus is a global manufacturer and supplier of turnkey commercial, industrial and self-storage building solutions including roll-up and swing doors, hallway systems, relocatable storage units, and facility- and door-automation technologies. The company operates out of several U.S. locations and six international offices.
