Online self-storage marketplace SpareFoot has partnered with facility directory SelfStorageFinders.com, creating what the company claims is the largest advertising network in the self-storage industry.
Finalized this month, the partnership effects a major change in the way SelfStorageFinders.com serves self-storage operators and consumers. The website previously used a subscription model whereby facilities paid monthly for listings without any guarantee of performance. Now partnered with the SpareFoot network, the site charges no monthly fees; listed facilities pay only when a new tenant moves in. SelfStorageFinders.com will also benefit from an improved user experience and a much larger database of facilities.
Launched three years ago, SpareFoot is developing a diverse suite of marketing solutions for self-storage operators. The companys growing list of partners includes SelfStorage.com, Apartments.com and uShip.com. The SpareFoot network includes more than 5,000 self-storage facilities nationwide, allowing consumers to comparison shop and helping facility operators find new tenants. Led by CEO Chuck Gordon, SpareFoot is backed by Silverton Partners, FLOODGATE and Capital Factory.
