Self-Storage Security Provider PTI Releases AP1 Access-Control Keypad
May 7, 2024
PTI Security Systems, a provider of access-control technologies for the self-storage industry, has released its new AP1 access-control keypad. The product offers operators and tenants new features that prioritize security and convenience, according to a press release.
AP1 integrates with PTI’s StorLogix access-control technology. It features a larger OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display that provides self-storage operators with expanded messaging and branding opportunities including the ability to include facility logos. It also uses next-generation Bluetooth with an increased range, allowing tenants touchless entry and exit via a swipe on their phone.
In addition, the new keypad has increased surge-protection capabilities and a clam-shell chassis. As an option, it can also be heated, which keeps the unit from freezing in colder climates while providing an additional heat source for internal elements. Raised, backlit buttons with positive tactile response allow for easier operation with gloved hands, the release stated.
“The AP1 keypad reflects the shifting expectations of operators and their tenants and is a direct replacement for our VP Standard line of keypads,” said Steve Reeder, director of marketing. “AP1 integrates Bluetooth technology with robust design features to enhance convenience and support advanced automation capabilities, redefining the standard for access control in the industry.”
PTI manufactures technology-enabled security solutions for self-storage operations. Its product line includes access-control hardware and software, wired and wireless door alarms, and mobile-access solutions. The company has installed more than 40,000 systems in 30-plus countries, according to its website. It’s part of the Assa Abloy Global Solutions portfolio of brands.
