A self-storage owner in Roanoke, Va., will soon open a restaurant in a retail center near his facility.
Scott Winter, owner of Winter's Mini Storage, is partnering with Joe Gallo to open Smoqin' Odie's Grill and Smokehouse inside a vacant space at Washington Court, a strip center at 2445 E. Washington Ave. Winter owns Washington Court through his company, Winter Properties Partnership.
Gallo, who has experience in the food industry, will run the eaterys day-to-day operations. Smoqin' Odie's will be a casual eatery offering smoked meats, side dishes, salads, soups and desserts. The restaurant is expected to open this spring.
