SMD Software Releases SiteLink Merchant Services, eSign for Self-Storage Operators

SMD Software Inc., provider of SiteLink property-management software for self-storage and portable-storage operations, has added credit-card processing and electronic-signature solutions to its 2015 suite of products.

SiteLink Merchant Services allows direct-payment processing for SiteLink users without a third-party vendor. The solution offers credit card liability protection and security. With 11,000 storage locations using SiteLink, SMD officials said they are able to offer competitive transaction rates.

“Our customers now have a single source for management software and payments processing,” said Markus Hecker, chief operating officer. “SiteLink Merchant Services follows the most stringent level of security. Owners reconcile payments faster with one deposit and one consolidated statement for major card brands, including American Express.”

SiteLink eSign offers users electronic-signature capability for rental agreements issued online as well as document archiving. Leases are automatically archived for seven years after a tenant’s agreement is terminated, according to a company press release.

“Online rentals are here to stay, and we expect a jump in online rentals in 2015,” said Yvette Apodaca, marketing manager. “If owners prefer to only rent at stores, tenants [can] sign leases on touch-screen monitors and mobile devices including tablets and smartphones.”

eSign is included as part of SiteLink Web Edition, while Merchant Services is available as an add-on for all SiteLink products. The credit card processing solution is available now in the United States and will be offered soon in Canada, according to the release.

Founded in Raleigh, N.C., in 1996, SiteLink has more than 11,000 installations worldwide. The software integrates with more than 30 technology partners’ services including kiosks, mobile devices, websites, insurance, call centers and other platforms.
