Moove In Self Storage (MISS), which operates 34 locations in six states, hired Tonya Farmer as district manager. Her responsibilities include staff recruitment, hiring and training as well as the supervision and mentorship of property and relief managers across the company’s portfolio. She’ll also assist with revenue management, repairs and maintenance, lien sales, team scheduling, customer-service issues, store audits and various reporting tasks.
Prior to joining MISS, Farmer worked as regional director of operations for Regis Corp., where she managed 60 salons with $15 million in annual sales. She was responsible for leading a team of salon and district managers, and managing overall finances and portfolio productivity. She led her team to a 3 percent increase in sales year-over-year while decreasing payroll costs and increasing guest counts, according to a press release.
“Bringing on someone of Tonya’s leadership ability makes everyone better. We are thrilled she joined the team and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make across the company,” said Brian Foran, director of operations for MISS.
Born in York, Pa., and raised in Jacksonville, Fla., Farmer resides in Wrightsville, Pa. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, and walking and boating on the Susquehanna River. “I am looking forward to starting a new chapter. Throughout my more than 20-year career, I have established a reputation as a transformational leader who is driven by challenge, undeterred by obstacles and committed to furthering standards of excellence,” Farmer said. “My expertise encompasses all aspects of operations management, and retail and sales planning, from controlling costs and maximizing revenue to harnessing team strengths to improve company-wide performance.”
Founded in 1998, MISS operates facilities in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The properties offer drive-up, interior access and temperature-controlled units, outdoor parking, and moving and packing supplies.
