NJ Self-Storage Operator StorageBlue Takes Measures to Fight Coronavirus
May 5, 2020
StorageBlue LLC, which operates five self-storage facilities in New Jersey, has taken measures to ensure the safety of its employees and customers during the coronavirus pandemic. The company recently installed clear corrugated panels in the management office at each of its sites to enforce social distancing. The polycarbonate plastic is stronger and more durable than traditional fiberglass while still allowing 90 percent light transmission, according to a press release.
The custom-fitted panels were placed in front of tenant rental stations to shield employees and customers from direct person-to-person contact. Hand sanitizer is also available at each area.
“The safety of our customers and our staff [is] of the utmost importance to us. We wanted to ensure we found a solution that allowed us to continue operating with the reliability and convenience our customers have come to expect,” said company founder and CEO Alan Mruvka, who hopes the panels will become part of an industry-wide approach to personal protection.
StorageBlue operates facilities in Garfield, Hoboken, Jersey City, Newark and Union City. In addition to self-storage, it offers U-Haul truck rentals, moving supplies and a valet-style storage service called StorageBlue Now, which it launched in 2016.
