Riverwalk Self Storage Expands With Allen Street Conversion in Ellicott, NY

Riverwalk Self Storage is converting a former Sysco Cash & Carry store in the Falconer village of Ellicott, N.Y., to self-storage. Construction on the $350,000 project will begin in May, with an expected opening in July. The facility at 2058 Allen Street Extension will comprise 45,000 square feet of storage space in 55 climate-controlled units. In addition to traditional self-storage, it will offer document and vehicle storage, according to the company website.

“We need additional space for our customers, and this was the perfect location,” said owner Jim Sirianno. “It also gives us a presence on the east side of the community.”

Riverwalk also operates a facility about three miles away from the new site, at 20 Steele St. in Jamestown, N.Y. That property also was a conversion. Sirianno transformed the former skating building into a 22,000-square-foot storage facility in 2012.
