Self-storage operator LifeStorage of Bridgeview, Ill., which is part of a chain of facilities in eight states, hosted a garage-sale event called Bridgeview Treasure Days on Sept. 21-22. The event at 7700 W. 79th St. ran from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

LifeStorage tenants were encouraged to attend the event as a way to clean out their storage units of unwanted items, sell objects or buy things from others. The Village of Bridgeview waived all permits or fees generally required for this type of event so there was no cost to participate. Sellers provided their own tables and chairs, and were welcome to sell to any attendees.

The LifeStorage garage sale also brought community members together in a social setting, said Nancy Warrer, lead manager. Its great to see people buying, selling and exchanging items that they find at these events, and we generally have a great turnout.

LifeStorage was founded in 2002 by owners Jean Jodoin and Christopher Barry. The company currently has 39 facilities in eight states, with a heavy concentration in the Chicagoland area.
