CopperRock Construction/Mini Storage Depot Win 2018 Star Master Builder Award for Self-Storage

CopperRock Construction Inc., a commercial construction firm based in Grand Rapids, Mich., has received two 2018 Master Builder Awards from Star Building Systems (SBS) for its design of the local Mini Storage Depot (MSD) at 1025 Clancy Ave. N.E. The facility won in the “Best of Self Storage” and “Best of the Great Lakes District” categories, according to the source. The awards recognize excellence in design and construction using SBS products.
The three-story self-storage property incorporates SBS insulated panels, mezzanines and roofing. The panels are accented with masonry and glass. The 97,200-square-foot building also features aluminum awnings.
CopperRock specializes in construction and design for the hospitality, industrial, medical, office, residential and retail sectors. It has projects throughout the Midwest.
MSD is affiliated with real estate firm The Sterling Group, founded in 1976, which acquires, constructs, develops and manages self-storage and multi-family properties throughout the Midwest and Southeast. The company has been active in the storage industry since 1986. MSD operates 13 self-storage facilities in Indiana, Michigan and Tennessee.
Founded in 1927, SBS offers metal building systems and components for commercial, industrial, school and other uses. It’s affiliated with Cary, N.C.-based NCI Building Systems Inc.
