StorageLookup.com Launches Online Self-Storage Marketplace

StorageLookup.com launched an online marketplace to help self-storage operators and moving companies market their services to customers. The platform was created by Richard Gregg, a 24-year real estate veteran focused on investing as well as property management and restoration, according to a press release.

StorageLookup.com is available in mobile and desktop formats. Self-storage operators can be listed for free or choose from two fee-based options. The free listing adds each facility to a searchable database and map. It includes address only (no phone, e-mail or Web), plus one category and one photo. The basic fee-based option adds a company logo, a photo gallery, unlimited categories, a phone number, unit sizes, and a link to the facility website. Finally, a featured listing includes special placement on the website homepage and in the “your city” function, plus the ability to offer customer coupons and a press release.

Self-storage consumers can search for storage space and pricing via an interactive map, or by entering a city and exploring local options. StorageLookup.com offers a blog with packing tips and advice on preparing items for long-term storage. There’s also an option for homeowners to list garage or other space for rent.

“We designed StorageLookup to be the ultimate destination for every aspect of the self-storage industry,” said Gregg, founder and CEO. “How many times have you booked a storage unit online only to find out the price has changed, they don't have the size you were looking for, or the famous upsells when you go to sign the contracts? With just the click of a button, you will get updated pricing and availability right from the source.”

Gregg launched the service after he and his brother were unable to find affordable indoor storage for his brother’s boat, according to the website. He hoped to simplify the process for others seeking storage and moving services.
