Self-Storage Operating Performance in Greater New Haven, Conn.

Occupying the south-central portion of Connecticut, the Greater New Haven metropolitan area includes towns that share an economic, social, political and historical focus. The region is known for its educational and economic ties to the academic landmark of Yale University, its vibrant Italian-American culture and cuisine, the ocean-side recreation and beach-community feel of the shoreline towns, and the Trap Rock landscapes that stretch north from the city.

The New Haven metropolitan statistical area (MSA) includes the counties and contiguous urbanized area centered on the city. It consists of all New Haven County, with 27 towns. It also includes the city of Waterbury and its southern and eastern suburbs, which are not usually included in local definitions of Greater New Haven. The New Haven MSA is also part of the wider labor-market region of the New York metropolitan area.

The accompanying charts demonstrate demographic, supply and operating statistics as of April 2010.
