Self-Storage Building Supplier MakoRabco Launches Doors and Hallways Division

MakoRabco, a nationwide supplier of buildings and construction-related services for the self-storage and boat/RV-storage industries, has launched a doors and hallways division led by Hans Matthey. The new organizational structure is intended to streamline the company’s design/build process. It’ll also allow MakoRabco to procure unit doors directly from Janus International Group’s manufacturing plant, according to a press release. Janus provides building components and access-control technology for the self-storage industry.

Matthey joined MakoRabco in January specifically to launch the new division. He most recently served as Janus’ sales representative for the Northwest. He’s also worked as a commercial general contractor and majored in construction-engineering management at Oregon State University, the release stated.

MakoRabco specializes in building design, supply and installation. The company formed in March 2022 when Mako Steel Inc., founded in 1993, and Rabco Enterprises, founded in 1988, joined forces. It now operates from offices in Carlsbad, California, and Winter Garden, Florida.

Headquartered in Temple, Georgia, and founded in 2002, Janus offers roll-up and swing doors, hallway systems, relocatable storage units, and facility- and door-automation technologies. The company operates out of several U.S. locations and six international offices.
