Global real estate firm Savills has hired Ollie Saunders to head its self-storage division. He’ll be based at the company’s London office and will work with the capital-markets team, according to the source.

Saunders has nearly 30 years of real estate experience covering consultancy, mergers and acquisitions, and asset valuation. Most recently, he spent nine years with JLL Capital Markets, a full-service global provider of capital solutions for real estate investors and occupiers. Prior to that, he spent 20 years in various roles at Drivers Jonas and Deloitte, where he worked with companies in Africa and the Middle East.

“Ollie is the undisputed expert in this rapidly growing sector, having advised on the majority of the important trades across the U.K. and Europe,” said Peter Allen, head of operational capital markets at Savills. “The synergies self-storage has with the wider living sectors are compelling, and we are excited to now be able to offer our clients’ access to the depth of knowledge he commands.”

Founded in the United Kingdom in 1855, Savills provides a range of services including asset management, brokerage, financing and valuation. It employs 40,000 people in more than 70 countries.
