Out of Space Storage LLC received unanimous planning-commission approval for a self-storage development in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The facility will be comprised of 120,000 square feet of climate-controlled storage units and 8,000 square feet of retail frontage, according to a company press release. It will also include 40 20-by-50 storage condos that will be sold individually.
Developer Aaron Freeman plans to incorporate the natural elements of the site, including a large pond, with the overall design and aesthetics of the building, the release stated. “Our hope is to revolutionize the perception of the self-storage industry with high-quality design and unparalleled services,” Freeman said.
Typical outdoor storage coupled with poor design has created a negative connotation toward the self-storage sector, according to Freeman. “In order for developers to generate more support from city municipalities and [the] public, this must change,” he said. “It starts with developers and the design team.”
Freeman will seek development approval from the city council on March 31.
