LifeStorage, a self-storage operator with 28 facilities in Illinois, Nevada and Wisconsin, has launched a new portal on its website to help customers manage their accounts. The system enables tenants to pay monthly rent, view itemized lists of balances due, set up automatic payments, and more.

The portal also allows tenants to view past monthly payments and update personal information on their accounts. Customers in transition from the companys previous portal can keep their existing logins, while new customers can easily create their own, company officials said.

To set up an account, customers will enter their storage-unit number, access code and the state in which their storage facility is located. Once their account is created, they will receive an e-mail confirming access to the portal.

"We feel that our new customer account portal will better serve and be used a lot by our customers, said Stephen D. Sandecki, Internet marketing manager. It is easy to use and navigate, which should entice the new customers to take advantage of this service."

Founded in 2002, LifeStorage has 25 locations in the Chicagoland area, two in Nevada and one in Wisconsin.
