Self-storage operator AAA Storage has purchased the former Jayson’s Mini-Storage in Palmetto, Fla., and rebranded it as AAA Storage Hwy 41. The company purchased 5310 Old U.S. Highway 41 last year after the property entered foreclosure in June, according to a company press release. Maintenance and upgrades were recently completed at the site, which offers climate-controlled and vehicle storage.

"We feel the facility's current customer base has been left out in the cold, so to speak, for far too long, and look forward to building a new level of trust with them as well as the remainder of the community,” said spokesperson Dal Anderson. “Our newest facility and will continue to apply the same high standards of operation here as we do with all our storage facilities.”

Census reports indicate the population in Palmetto has surged more than 70 percent over the last 25 years, with an additional 7 percent growth projected by 2017, the release stated. This uptick in newcomers has driven demand in the real estate industry as well as the self-storage sector.

“With the industry expanding by leaps and bounds in Palmetto and the surrounding areas, our team is happy to be expanding our reach to cater to the growing needs of our friends and neighbors here,” Anderson said.

AAA recently opened a new facility in Dessau, a suburb of Austin, Texas. The property comprises 60,000 square feet of storage space in more than 440 ground-floor units as well as outdoor vehicle parking.

AAA Storage operates facilities in Florida, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Texas. Property features include drive-up and climate-controlled units, vehicle parking, and postal services at select locations.
