Self-storage owner Joey Lawrence Barnwell, 58, was killed on May 6 when a car crashed into his facility office in Hendersonville, N.C., while he was inside. The accident at Add A Space Mini Storage at 4001 Asheville Highway occurred at 12:50 p.m., according to the source.

Nestor Sanchez Ojeda, 45, was driving north on U.S. Route 25 when he sideswiped a vehicle traveling in the same direction. The impact caused Ojeda’s vehicle to veer across the road, graze a utility pole and then slam into the facility’s office, said North Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Murico Stephens.

Ojeda has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.

Add A Space is locally owned and operated. Offerings include climate-controlled and drive-up units, and moving and packing supplies.
