NAI Horizon, an Arizona-based commercial real estate brokerage, has hired self-storage industry veteran Denise Nunez as a company principal and senior vice president. Nunez will specialize in representing buyers and sellers of self-storage investments in the southwest market, according to a press release.

Nunez has more than 23 years of self-storage experience. She joined Rein & Grossoehme Commercial Real Estate as a broker in 2010. Last year, she was involved in the sale of 20 self-storage properties totaling $43 million, the release stated. Nunez previously served as president of MiniCo Publishing, the publications arm of Phoenix-based MiniCo Insurance Agency LLC. She also has experience in asset management, fundraising, strategic planning and new-product development for companies including Friess Associates LLC, Petros Capital and VPI Cos.

Nunez’s professional affiliations include serving on the Arizona Self-Storage Association board of directors for 14 years, including two years as vice president. She currently serves on the corporate board of directors for The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley in Arizona. She’s a graduate of Arizona State University, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
