Storage Authority Appoints New Self-Storage Franchise Director

Storage Authority LLC, which operates self-storage facilities in four states and offers franchise opportunities, has appointed Ed Clement as franchise director and “real estate guru.” He has more than 30 years of experience in real estate, investment banking and management consulting, according to a press release.

Clement began his career at Proudfoot, an international consulting firm, where he was responsible for technical analysis and the implementation of management-information systems to reduce costs and improve productivity. While there, he worked with companies such as Alabama Power, Citi, Exxon Mobil and Georgia Power.

He eventually transitioned to the financial-services industry, working his way up to head trader and sales manager for fixed-income government securities to banks, savings and loans, insurance companies, and municipalities. Clement was responsible for branch office operations in California and Florida. He holds licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority for series seven, 24 and 63, and is a registered operating principal.

Clement later opened Clement Properties. With three offices in Broward County, Florida, the company employed more than 100 real estate agents. It was a HUD manager, responsible for the sales and management of all HUD properties in the county.

His passion for real estate expanded to include commercial properties. He specialized in the acquisition and disposition of on- and off-market commercial real estate involving hotels, 100-plus units of multi-family housing, land development, and office buildings. He’s a registered real estate broker in Florida and Georgia.

“Ed joins the Storage Authority team with a powerful foundation and confidence in the brand’s mission to help busy professionals make a lucrative second income. In addition to his demonstrated talent in real estate, development and process improvement, Ed is excited to build on the Storage Authority’s development, operations, training and marketing programs,” said CEO Marc Goodin.

Based in Sarasota, Florida, and co-founded by Goodin and Scott House, Storage Authority launched its franchise model in 2014, offering existing self-storage owners and those looking to enter the industry the chance to build a business under the brand’s operational framework. The company also offers consulting services and facility-manager training. Storage Authority operates two self-storage facilities in Connecticut, one in Florida, and one each in New Jersey and Texas.
