Space Station Self Storage, which operates 10 facilities in England, is adding six flexible-office spaces at its location in Slough, Berkshire. Opening the next month, the work areas range from 130 to 225 square feet, each accommodating up to four people, according to a press release.

The facility at 149 St. Paul’s Ave. already offers eight flexible workspaces, which are full. They come available furnished or unfurnished, and include access to a large communal kitchen and meeting rooms. Renters have 24/7 entry, access to WiFi and telephone systems, and free parking.

The new service follows a 33 percent increase in demand for flexible-office space, the release stated. “We’ve seen a huge increase in demand for office space in the Slough area over the last 12 months, as people have realized through the pandemic that they perhaps don’t want to work from home 24/7 but want the option to work flexibly closer to home,” said store manager Michal Stephens. “We are proud to have been able to provide our services, be that self-storage, our free removals or existing flexible-office space to the people of Slough safely through various lockdowns and restrictions.”

Founded in 1983 by owner Alastair Caldwell, Space Station operates four facilities in Greater London, three in London, and one each in Berkshire, Birmingham and Solihull. It also provides free moving services for new tenants. The company was acquired last fall by real estate investment firm Heitman LLC.
