Police Seek Murder Suspect in Fatal Shooting Outside Everett, WA, Self-Storage Facility

Update 6/7/22 –The victim of the May 3 shooting at Storehouse Mini Storage has been identified and police have ruled the incident a homicide. Scott Pullen, 48, suffered a gunshot wound to the head. No arrests have been made.

Pullen’s friend, who called 911 that day, told officers he had parked his Chevy Tahoe at the storage facility, then left the site with Pullen. When the two returned, they noticed the SUV’s windows were fogged and the driver-side door was open. They discovered a man sleeping inside the vehicle and confronted him, but he ran away.

The pair then noticed another male sleeping inside a Dodge Durango that was parked at the site. The friend told police that he knew the vehicle’s owner was out of town on a fishing trip. When they confronted the man, he emerged from the vehicle brandishing a gun. The friend hid, then heard a gunshot and saw Pullen fall to the ground. The shooter then stole the Tahoe and fled the scene, according to Everett Police Department Detective Alex Helphrey. Pullen was found next to passenger side of his Chevy Silverado.

Security footage from the incident support the friend’s account of the event, Helphrey said. Police later found the abandoned Tahoe in King County. It has been impounded, and investigators are searching for the thief, who’s a suspect in the murder.
