Mural Completed at Eau Claire, WI, Self-Storage Facility

A community-based group completed a mural this week at an Eau Claire, Wisconsin, self-storage facility. The artwork at 1st Avenue Mini Storage was spearheaded by the Public Painting Project (PPP), which was created by two local artists, according to sources.

The painting at 1128 1st Ave. was worked on by 20 artists, who collaborated on the theme “Revelry” to celebrate community, music and nature. The art was inspired by the nearby Chippewa River and Phoenix Park Bridge. It was paid for through community donations, including those generated from a GoFundMe page.

PPP was founded by Jo Ellen Burke and Sylvia Annelise Hecht, who recently completed a mural titled “Sanctuary” on another building. PPP offers workshops to artists so they can learn about and practice painting murals.

1st Avenue Mini Storage is locally owned and operated. It offers drive-up units.
