A Davis, Okla., self-storage facility suffered major damage last week after an alleged intoxicated driver crashed through one of its buildings. Kristeferr Steven Lennon, 30, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, driving under suspension or revocation, and leaving the scene of an accident, according to the source.

Officers were called to Main Street Mini-Storage Units at 229 W. Main St. around 8 a.m. on Oct. 3. Witnesses reported Lennon’s pickup veered off the road, hit a curb and slammed into the storage structure from the rear. He then crashed through two unit doors before stopping just outside the building. Stored items covered the truck and spilled onto the ground. The facility is unfenced.

When police arrived, they spotted Lennon crossing the street toward the 77 Grill eatery. He told investigators he was headed to the establishment to use the restroom, the source reported. Police claim Lennon had “glassy” eyes and slurred speech, but the driver said he’d been clean for four days. Later, he admitted to another officer that he had used methamphetamine the night before the accident.

Lennon's license was revoked, and he had a warrant for his arrest in Kansas. He was booked into Murray County jail.

The extent of damage to the storage facility has yet to be determined.
