Real estate development firm Miller-Valentine Group and self-storage developer Coastal Storage Group have partnered to build a three-story facility in Murrells Inlet, S.C. The property will comprise 92,000 square feet near the intersection of Highway 707 and Prince Creek Parkway. Extra Space Storage Inc., a real estate investment trust and third-party management company, will operate that facility when it opens next spring, according to a press release.

Miller-Valentine and Coastal recently completed construction on a similar facility in Goose Creek, S.C., which features “commercial-grade” climate control, including humidity regulation.

Founded in 1963, Miller-Valentine provides design/build construction, development and property-management services in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest. The company has built more than 83 million square feet of commercial space and more than 15,000 residential housing units.

Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Extra Space owns or operates more than 1,480 self-storage properties nationwide and in Puerto Rico. The company’s properties comprise approximately 1 million units and 112 million square feet of rentable space.
