Middle East Self-Storage Operator The Box Plans Expansion to Germany, Other Markets

The Box Self Storage Services LLC, which operates facilities in Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced its intention to expand internationally. Germany is of particular interest due to its economy and growing self-storage demand, according to a press release.

“We believe that our success in Dubai is not an isolated phenomenon. Our commitment to excellence and our customer-centric approach are principles that transcend borders,” said Wadih Haddad, founder and CEO. “We see Germany as a market with great potential, and we are excited to explore opportunities there.”

As part of its expansion strategy, the company has partnered with Koen Verboven, owner of Belgium-based APSB-Consultancy, which specializes in the development and construction of self-storage, hotels, office and warehouses. Verboven spent three years working in project and construction management for Shurgard Self Storage Ltd., the European affiliate of U.S.-based real estate investment trust Public Storage Inc., according to his LinkedIn profile.

Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Dubai, The Box offers self-storage and moving services. It operates more than 200,000 square feet of storage space in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, UAE; and Beirut, Lebanon.
