Storage Choice is building three multi-story self-storage facilities in and around downtown Dallas. Construction for the first property, a six-story, 130,000-square-foot facility in downtown Dallas, will begin next month. The facility is in the redeveloping Farmers Market between Canton Street and Commerce Street, next to Interstate 45. Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2016, it will include 950 climate-controlled units as well as wine storage.

The company first announced the Farmers Market project in April. The facility was originally scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2016. “We are very excited about this property and its location,” said Paul Glover, vice president.

Construction of a second facility near downtown Dallas in the Design District will begin during the first quarter of the year. The five-story, 140,000-square-foot facility at the corner of Slocum Street and Wichita Street will include 1,000 climate-controlled units.

The third facility is a conversion project in the Dallas suburb of Farmer’s Branch. The development on McEwen Road, near the intersection of Midway Road, will include 130,000 square feet of climate-controlled storage space. Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2016, with the opening slated for the third quarter.

Founded 20 years ago, Storage Choice is a family-owned self-storage company. It operates 12 facilities comprising 1 million square feet in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, and Houston.
