Janus/Steel Storage Australia Acquire Self-Storage Construction Firm G&M Stor-More

Steel Storage Australia Pty. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Janus International that provides self-storage design and construction services to the Australia market, has acquired local competitor G&M Stor-More Pty. Ltd. The purchase will allow Steel Storage to establish a stronger base in New South Wales (NSW) and enable Janus, a global manufacturer and supplier of self-storage building components and security technology, to enhance product offerings across the country, according to a press release.

“We are thrilled to continue expanding our services across Australia by acquiring a best-in-class self-storage construction provider,” said Janus CEO Ramey Jackson. “We welcome G&M Stor-More’s proven team, and look forward to incorporating their exceptional market knowledge and customer services into our comprehensive offering to better serve our customers in the Australasia market.”

Based in Sydney, G&M has served the Australian self-storage industry since 1997. It specializes in self-storage construction across NSW.

Janus has been actively expanding. Earlier this month, it announced it would go public after a planned merger with Juniper Industrial Holdings Inc., a publicly listed special-purpose acquisition company. The union is expected to be complete during the second quarter. Janus parent company Clearlake Capital Group L.P. will remain the firm’s largest shareholder.

Headquartered in Temple, Ga., and founded in 2002, Janus sells roll-up and swing doors, hallway systems, and re-locatable storage units. Its technology division helps self-storage operators automate facility operation, improve security and create a more convenient customer experience, the release stated. It operates 10 U.S. locations as well as manufacturing facilities in Europe and Mexico.
