A.L. Adams Construction has been launched to provide construction and renovation services to the self-storage industry as well as the industrial, office and retail sectors in the Southeast. Based in Greenwood, South Carolina and owned by Franklin F. Adams, the company is a branch of real estate investment firm Adams Property Group, according to a press release.

The business will offer pre-construction, general-construction and design-build services. It’s area of focus is single- and multi-story self-storage, strip-center renovations, ground-up anchored developments, and tenant buildouts. The company is currently working on three projects for Monster Self Storage, which already operates 13 facilities in Georgia and the Carolinas. The new sites are in Statesboro and Valdosta Georgia, and Greenwood, South Carolina.

Adams was first introduced to the real estate business in 2001 when he acquired a self-storage facility in Aiken, South Carolina, with his father and brother. He founded Adams Property Group in 2008. The 50-person firm now operates in five states and manages or owns more than 2 million square feet of real estate.

Adams named the construction company in honor of his father, Adiel Levin Adams Jr., who died in October. Adiel Adams founded AL Adams Construction Co. in 1968 and sold it in 1990. The company provided construction services for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings in Georgia and South Carolina.
