Police seized more than $11.3 million in counterfeit goods on Monday from a Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, self-storage unit after responding to a report of multiple gunshots in the area. The items discovered at the Extra Space Storage facility included cologne, clothes, hats, shoes and handbags, according to sources.

During their investigation of the gunfire, officers noticed multiple vehicles and a person standing outside a self-storage unit at 53 Clinton St. When they looked inside the space, they discovered thousands of goods resembling high-end brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Nike and Rolex, in boxes and displayed on shelves and tables, the sources reported.

Police also discovered the interior walls in the space had been removed to allow access to three more units. Officers confiscated 16,644 counterfeit items, and an additional 19 worth nearly $45,000 were taken from two vehicles parked near the units.

Powers & Associates, a firm that represents trademark holders dealing with counterfeiters, was asked to help identify the products. No arrests have been made.

Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Extra Space is a self-storage real estate investment trust that owns or operates 2,388 self-storage properties in 41 states and Washington, D.C. The company’s properties comprise approximately 1.7 million units and 180 million square feet of rentable space.
