Portable self-storage operator Mobile Mini Inc. recently acquired Beacon Equipment Leasing, a portable-storage business based in Buffalo, N.Y. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Beacon owns approximately 550 portable-storage units, 85 percent of which are occupied, the source reported. Mobile Mini now plans to open a branch in Buffalo, according to Erik Olsson, the company’s president and CEO.
"This acquisition allows us to further increase our ability to service customers in this region and expands our footprint in strong markets that have been, and continue to be, growing," Olsson told the source.
Mobile Mini acquired Houston-based Evergreen Tank Solutions, a provider of specialty containment solutions, last month for $405 million in cash, the source reported. The company also recently moved its headquarters from Tempe, Ariz., to Phoenix.
Founded in 1983, Mobile Mini is a provider of portable-storage and mobile-office solutions. The company operates more than 130 locations throughout North America.
