Mobile, AL, Police Make Arrest in String of Self-Storage Burglaries

Police arrested a man this week in connection with a string of burglaries at self-storage facilities in Mobile, Alabama. Five units were raided at Airport Schillinger Self Storage and two other storage properties, according to sources.

Thomas Nickols Marshall, 33, has been charged with receiving stolen property.

One of the thefts from Airport Schillinger at 7841 Airport Blvd. included a utility trailer. Zonnya Inge, a tenant at the facility for six years, received an email that her unit wasn’t secured with a lock. When she visited her space, she discovered most of her belongings were missing. The items included TVs, furniture and family photos. She estimates the loss exceeds $25,000, a source reported.

Inge said she was told by a facility employee that 20 units had been breached at three of the company’s locations. Police haven’t confirmed this, and an Airport Schillinger manager interviewed by Fox 10 declined to comment on the open investigation.

Other properties in the portfolio include A Schillinger Self Storage, Snow Road Self Storage and Snow Road Self Storage South.
