Before that she was an associate at Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells) from 1998 to 2002, where she specialized in public and private transactional work, public-equity offerings, and venture-capital financing.
Cohn earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
“We are pleased to announce Lisa’s addition to NSA’s board, as her extensive experience as a cross-functional leader and general counsel for a publicly traded REIT will provide a valuable and differentiated perspective while further enhancing our board’s diversity,” said Tamara Fischer, executive chairperson of the NSAT Board.
Ferguson Partners, which specializes in board and executive recruitment in the REIT industry, advised NSAT in the appointment.
Headquartered in Greenwood, Colorado, NSAT is a self-administered and -managed REIT focused on the acquisition, operation and ownership of self-storage properties within the top 100 U.S. Metropolitan Statistical Areas. The company operates 1,119 storage facilities in 42 states and Puerto Rico. Its portfolio comprises approximately 73 million net rentable square feet. It's owned by its affiliate operators, who are contributing their interests in their self-storage assets over the next few years as their current mortgage debt matures.
