Mark Gilkison, who owns Gilkison Mini Storage in Bedford, Kentucky, is seeking election to the Kentucky General Assembly in the 47th House District, which includes Carroll, Henry, Trimble and Owen Counties.

“As a small-business owner with over 30 years of experience owning and running these businesses, I’ve seen the challenges citizens face in this new economy,” Gilkison said. “After much thought and prayer with my family, I’m announcing that I’ve decided to run for House District 47 because we deserve someone in the state house who will actually fight to address those challenges in our district. Our children deserve a better future than just another vote for the ways of the past.”

Gilkison was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and later moved to Henry County where he purchased a farm. He has owned and operated a series of businesses, including Gilkison Construction Inc., which he launched in 2001, and Gilkison Real Estate LLC, founded in 2004. He purchased the self-storage facility in Trimble County in 2016. He and his wife, Johnna, have two adult sons, Mark A. Gilkison II and Hayden Tyler Gilkison.

Gilkison Mini Storage offers drive-up units in a variety of sizes.
