Police interrupted a burglary in progress last week at a self-storage facility in Solon, Iowa. The suspect was arrested after a brief pursuit, according to the source.
Six units at Solon Storage Rentals, 101 W. 5th St., were broken into at approximately 3:30 a.m. on July 6. After being spotted by police, the suspect fled the property in a Ford Escape and led the officer on a short chase. He then ditched the car in a residential area and ran on foot before being arrested.
Alex Ball, 40, faces charges of third-degree burglary, eluding police, driving while intoxicated and more.
Opened in 1996, Solon Storage is locally owned. The facility offers 24-hour access.
