Hammer-Wielding Woman Attacks Police at Glen Burnie, MD, Self-Storage Facility

A woman wielding a hammer attacked police officers on Sunday at a Glen Burnie, Maryland, self-storage facility. Authorities were called to Ritchie Mini Storage at 3 p.m. by a person who claimed the attacker stole their phone and was making threats, according to sources.

An off-duty Veteran Affairs police officer was able to detain the woman until law enforcement arrived at 20 Ertel Road. While being arrested, Walston bit and kicked officers multiple times, the sources reported.

Kierra Walston, 26, faces charges of assault, reckless endangerment, robbery, theft and trespassing. She was released from custody on her own recognizance.

Ritchie Mini Storage is managed by StorageMart, which operates more than 250 self-storage properties across Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Founded in 1999 and based in Columbia, Missouri, StorageMart is privately owned and operated by the Burnam Family.
