3 Men Face Felony Charges After Fleeing the Scene of a Shawnee, KS, Self-Storage Theft

Three men are facing felony charges after fleeing the scene of a Shawnee, Kansas, self-storage burglary last week. Police were called to iStorage just after 3 a.m. on Friday in response to a reported theft of vehicle parts in progress, according to the source.

Two of the three suspects were seen on video camera at 6410 Vista Drive before getting into a black Chrysler 300. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver refused to yield. A pursuit began on Shawnee Mission Parkway and moved north on Interstate 435. At that point the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times, just north of Johnson Drive. One passenger was ejected, and firefighters had to pull the driver from the damaged car.

The suspects were taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. None have been arrested, but felony charges are pending, the source reported.
