Self-Storage Management Firm SAM Donates $9K to Breast-Cancer Research and Awareness

Storage Asset Management (SAM), a property-management and consulting firm for the self-storage industry, donated $9,191 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support breast-cancer research and awareness in October. The company’s managed facilities each contributed a portion of their monthly merchandise sales, which were then matched by the corporate office, according to a press release.

The company also showed support for a team member who’s battling breast cancer by hosting a companywide “Pink Out” in which employees donned pink clothing. “While SAM-managed stores have raised money in previous years to benefit breast-cancer awareness and research, this year it really resonated with each of us as we witnessed the courage and perseverance of one of our SAM property managers battling breast cancer,” said Melissa Stiles, chief marketing officer.

Based in York, Pennsylvania, SAM operates more than 500 facilities in multiple states. It employs 830-plus people, the release stated.
