The owner of Wilderness Self Storage and Uhaul in Lincoln, Nebraska, recently helped Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue after the organization received a large donation of dog food from Tractor Supply Co., a local business. Alan Schroeder and a coworker named Noah volunteered to unload and stack five pallets of kibble totaling 6,300 pounds, according to the source.

The rescue has been struggling recently to fill its food pantry. “We go through bags every day. The food just means so much to us,” said Lindy Mara, a Dolly’s volunteer, adding that the organization is also in need of foster homes for the shelter’s many pets. “Fosters are our most valuable resource. If we can get more people to foster, that would be amazing. The more fosters we have, the more animals we can save.”

Opened in 2011, Wilderness Self Storage offers drive-up and outdoor vehicle storage. It’s also a U-Haul truck dealer.

Founded in 2013, Dolly’s Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue group. All donations go toward its rescue efforts and orphaned pets in its care.
