Self-Storage Operator StorageMart Partners With NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs for Charity
May 5, 2021
StorageMart, which operates more than 200 self-storage properties across Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, is partnering with the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a nonprofit offering youth-support mentoring programs. The storage operator has pledged to make a donation for every successful tackle made by the Chiefs, with a projected total of $50,000 for the 2021 season. A “StorageMart Tackle Tracker” has been added to storage-mart.com, according to a press release.
The five-year partnership aims to increase brand visibility for both organizations while supporting ongoing charitable giving. “A partnership with the Chiefs made a lot of sense geographically but, really, it's our shared goal of supporting local communities that brought us together,” said Sarah Little, managing director of digital marketing for StorageMart “The Chiefs do many great things to give back, and we're thrilled to have partners aligned with our values as a global company.”
The program is an extension of StorageMart’s “Store It Forward” charitable-giving program, which aims to improve the quality of life for people living near StorageMart locations and beyond. In recent years, the company donated more than $500,000 as well as storage space to charitable organizations in Canada, the U.K. and the U.S.
“StorageMart and the Chiefs are two local brands with deep Midwestern roots and a shared mission to give back to our communities—not just here in Missouri—but across the United States and even the world,” said StorageMart CEO Cris Burnam.
Founded in 1999 and based in Columbia, Mo., StorageMart is privately owned and operated by the Burnam Family, which has been in the storage industry for four generations. Its portfolio consists of more than 15 million square feet of storage.
