February 18, 2021
Apple Self Storage, which operates 35 locations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario, Canada, recently donated $20,550 to The Able Network, a nonprofit dedicated to helping young adults with intellectual disabilities (ID). This was the fifth consecutive year Apple held a companywide fundraiser to benefit the charity, according to a press release.
“Apple Self Storage thanks all the tenants that helped make this wonderful donation possible,” company officials said. “Last year was a difficult year for many, and being able to continue fundraising for The Able Network allows ongoing support to those in the community.”
Based in Aurora, Ontario, the nonprofit offers five core programs—work experience, transit training, recreation, literacy and volunteer activities—designed to provide inclusive work and recreation opportunities for young adults with ID. During the pandemic, it’s adapted many of its programs to an online format.
Family-owned and -operated, Apple opened its first facility in 1974. Its properties comprise more than 1.2 million square feet of rentable space. The company offers standard and premium storage units, mailbox rental, package acceptance, hold-key service, and packing and moving supplies.
