Chamber member Baylyne Blan of Lancaster Health & Rehab won the prize, valued at $7,000. The gala raised $3,900, according to an Access Self Storage press release.

“We are very fortunate to have access to a beautiful spot in St. Thomas that we are eager to share with our neighbors,” said Doug Hunt, who co-owns Access Self Storage with his brother, David Hunt. “The goal was to bring in some more money for the chamber this year. We wanted to help.”

The Hunts are no strangers to raising money for a good cause. As chairs of the Texas Self Storage Association’s fundraising committee, the pair have been responsible for raising more than $500,000 dollars for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston, Texas. The storage owners also recently gave each of its managers $100 to donate to someone in need during the holidays.

Access Self Storage has facilities in East Dallas, Garland, Lancaster, Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove and Red Oak, Texas. The company has a corporate responsibility program through which it regularly contributes to local causes. According to the company website, each Access facility sponsors events throughout the year designed to support and encourage education, volunteerism and charitable giving.
