The annual awards recognize Singapore leaders for business success, employee engagement and COVID-management initiatives, according to a press release.
Among the achievements noted by the awards panel were Ng’s leadership role in helping to establish self-storage standards in Singapore and across the region as well as the creation of investment and growth opportunities for facility operators and her rise to prominence in a male-dominated industry, the release stated.
Ng is credited with becoming the first female CEO of a self-storage business in Singapore when she took over Lock+Store in November 2010. She also became deputy chair of the Self-Storage Association Asia in 2014 and was appointed chair of the organization in 2016.
Prior to her time with General Storage, Ng was part of the senior-management team at commercial real estate developer Ang Oon Hue Pte.
