Big Tex Storage of Houston Nominated for ‘Excellence in Construction Award’

Big Tex Storage, which operates six self-storage locations in Houston, has had one of its facilities nominated for an “Excellence in Construction Award” by the local chapter of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA). The property at 4944 Woodway Drive is one of five candidates for “Project of the Year” in the under $15 million category. The winners will be announced at a Feb. 9 ceremony, according to a press release.

The ASA award recognizes developments that exemplify innovation, craftsmanship and dedication. The Big Tex Storage facility is one of 23 nominees.

“The acknowledgment of our class-A self-storage asset for this esteemed award exemplifies the unwavering commitment of our team to unparalleled standards in construction and aesthetics,” the release stated. “This distinction holds special significance, coinciding with our milestone 10th major development in the Houston market. This achievement not only underscores our continuous growth, but also signifies that our team of dedicated professionals, including contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, managers and developers, are consistently achieving excellence. We take great pride in their outstanding efforts.”

Founded in 2005, Big Tex has a self-storage portfolio comprising more than 620,000 square feet.
