Texas Self Storage Association Exceeds $2M in Donations to Shriners Hospitals

The Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA) has exceeded $2 million in total donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston, Texas, for which it has been fundraising for more than 20 years. The most recent installment of $253,753, raised in 2021, was presented to the medical group during a March 29 luncheon in San Antonio, according to a press release.

The TSSA generates charitable donations during its annual fall conference, which includes live and silent auctions as well as a casino night and poker tournament. All the proceeds from these activities are given directly to Shriners. Individual association members also contribute throughout the year. This year’s fundraising efforts are already underway and will conclude at the 2022 conference, Oct. 23-25, in Austin, Texas.

Shriners includes 22 hospitals in Canada, Mexico and the United States, providing advanced care for children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal-cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate.

Established in 1986, the TSSA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of the self-storage industry in Texas. It provides opportunities for members to increase their knowledge of the business through education, research, discussion and exchange of information.
