American Spectrum Realty Inc., a real estate investment and management company, recently purchased two self-storage properties in Tampa and Ocala, Fla.

The portfolio consists of more than 100,000 square feet with a combined total of 776 storage units. The facilities offer amenities such as climate-controlled and drive-up units, wine storage, truck rental, 24-hour access, onsite leasing, and vehicle storage.

The company, which operates under the brand 1st American Storage, is expanding its portfolio through acquisitions and third-party management contracts. American Spectrums national self-storage division includes more than 10,000 units in excess of 1.6 million square feet in multiple states.

Headquartered in Houston, American Spectrum Realty Inc. owns office, industrial, self-storage, retail and multi-family properties throughout the United States. The company has been publicly traded since 2001. American Spectrum Management Group Inc. is a subsidiary of the company that manages and leases all properties owned by American Spectrum Realty Inc. as well as third-party clients.
