84-Year-Old Man Dies After Crashing Into Holland, MI, Self-Storage Facility

An 84-year-old man died after crashing his car last week into a self-storage facility in Holland, Michigan. Authorities believe Glenn Schrotenboer suffered a medical emergency around 8:15 a.m. on Nov. 19 that led to the accident at Holland Self Storage, according to sources.

Schrotenboer was driving a Dodge Caravan south on U.S. Route 31 when he left the road after the intersection with Lincoln Avenue. The car veered across the grass and through a fence, then slammed into a building at 160 E. 40th St.

Schrotenboer was unresponsive at the scene and later pronounced dead at the hospital. He was the only person in the vehicle. Police have ruled at speed or alcohol as factors of the accident.
