OB Cos./Simply Self Storage is taking an innovative approach to customer acquisition by placing INSOMNIAC self-storage kiosks, produced by Opentech Alliance Inc., in several shopping malls. The kiosks have been specially designed in conjunction with Simply Self Storage and will feature eye-catching signage to draw consumers.
The first installment was made this month at University Mall in Pensacola, Fla., where the company has completed a new, three-story facility. In August, a second kiosk will be placed at Castleton Square mall in Indianapolis, where the company is completing another new site. Both facilities are joint ventures with Simon Property Group, an S&P 500 company.
We believe shop owners and mall visitors alike will enjoy the self-service convenience of being able to rent storage units using INSOMNIAC, said Kerry Richard, vice president of operations for OB Cos. We see locating kiosks inside malls as a key ingredient to our success in capturing new customers for our mall storage properties.
OB Cos./Simply Self Storage is a privately owned self-storage company that develops and acquires facilities in the United States and Puerto Rico. The company owns or operates more than 200 facilities representing 14.3 million square feet of storage space.
